The In Loco Association has announced the opening of the deadline for applications under PDR2020 measure 10 “LEADER”, which aims to improve farmers' proximity marketing with up to 80% support.
The support is part of the Local Development Strategy for the Interior of the Central Algarve, and is divided between the «Short Chains» and «Local Markets» components.
Applications must promote direct contact between the producer and the consumer, contributing to the outflow of local produce, the preservation of local produce and specialties, the reduction of food waste, the improvement of the diet through access to fresh seasonal produce. and quality, and encourage less intensive and environmentally sustainable cultural practices, contributing to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by reducing the costs of storing, cooling and transporting products to distribution centers.
The actions eligible under the 'Short Chains' component are: storage, transport and purchase of small sales structures; awareness and education actions for consumers or other target audiences; development of electronic platforms and promotional materials; promotion and awareness actions for the commercialization of proximity to urban centers that allow the flow and valorization of local production; and trips by producers to local markets.
The actions eligible under the 'Local Markets' component are: creation or upgrading of existing local market infrastructure; promotion and awareness actions for the commercialization of proximity that allow the disposal and valorization of local production; storage, transport and purchase of small sales structures; and development of electronic platforms and promotional materials.
