According to the data obtained by the Brazilian newspaper, 7,120 doctors entered the selection open by the Government, whose objective was to strengthen the medical supply in the interior of Brazil, after the departure of Cuban doctors in November last year.

The executive's prediction was that another 1,397 doctors, all Brazilians trained abroad, would start activities by the end of last week.

The professionals who gave up the vacancies worked between one week and three months, and the main reasons reported to the municipalities for leaving were the search for other workplaces, attendance in specialization courses and the need to become a medical residency ', a post -graduation for physicians and held in institutions accredited by the Ministry of Education.

Data from the Brazilian Ministry of Health indicate that the profile of cities where the first dropouts occurred varies.
