The Portuguese athlete Inês Henriques won today the bronze medal in the European Cup of athletics, which took place in Alytus, Lithuania, her best result in the race.
Ines Henriques remained in the fight for the medals until the end, having fallen to the third place to 31 kilometers, when it was nurtured by the Spanish Julia Takacs.
The Portuguese marquee made the mark of 4: 13.57 hours, achieving thus the minimums for the World-wide ones of Doha, as well as with Mara Ribeiro, who was 12th with the time of 4: 27.14.
Italy's Eleonora Giorgi won the race in time of 4: 04.50, a new European record, while the silver medal went to Julia Takacs, who is the new record holder of Spain with 4: 05.46.
In the 10 kilometers, the junior Joana Bridges was 12th classified, with 50.07 minutes.
