The 3rd Bolina – International Festival of Clowns will fill the life of Portalegre with joy and creativity for a week between May 4 and 11.
After two months of pre-Bolina by Elvas, Ponte de Sor, Badajoz, Valencia de Alcântara, Castelo de Vide and Campo Maior, with Maria Simões, Cátia Vieira, Eva Ribeiro and Caísa Tiburcio, will join the Portuguese and Brazilian dozens of companions from all over the world for an unforgettable week.
Red noses in the feminine will fill the days of the capital of Alto Alentejo, from early morning until the evening, still with special programming in Castelo de Vide.
As is tradition, the Bolina starts with a street parade and a visit to the Market, so that the community has a first contact with the more than six dozen clowns that will give color to the days.
The afternoon will be the official opening and the kick-off of the nights is given by the Italian Claudia Cantone, with "The Secret Room", inspired by the story of Anne Frank.
This year, the eyes, hearts and noses are set in Brazil, from which comes the largest representation of volunteer artists, joined by clowns from Argentina, Colombia, Spain, Italy, France, Canada, Poland and Portugal.
Between community clowns and evening shows, the program includes short or long workshops for children, young people and families or professional clowns, until the final gala, on May 11 at 9:30 p.m., in the auditorium of the School of Arts of the North Alentejo (Conservatory of Music).
Maria Simões, from Descalças Cooperativa Cultural, dreamed and gave shape to this festival that goes in the 3rd edition, taking to two times in roaming and militancy the very language of the clown, in the feminine, to the communities of the interior.
