Iris, a reference band that acts in a room that also is already. In the Cine-Teatro Louletano we will have Íris the rock band originated in the Algarve and that is one of the oldest in Portugal. It is expected that they will interpret the themes of their most recent work, "Ballads", but they will certainly not miss the classics that have already immortalized it in what will be a very lively Sunday afternoon, on May 12, at 5:00 p.m. in matinee for sing and dance.
It was July 1979, when a group of four boys decided to form a band that had as main intention to make and to play good music. Like so many other bands that at the time proliferated in the south of the country, they began by playing at dances and parties all over the Algarve.
Forty years of career that are confused with the history of Portuguese light music, but that are a landmark in the identification of a region. Rare are those who do not remember, in the years before 1996, the appearance of a theme that has become one of the band's greatest hits. The interpretation of rock music sung with Algarvian pronunciation was the most innovative. "Oh Mother, That Moçe Beat me" – a version of the song "The House Of The Rising Sun", immortalized by the Animals – was the song of this band that had the most impact until today, but the success did not stop here.
In 2007 they released the CD + DVD Iris live with Ensemble Petrov, in which they join a string orchestra, an important milestone in the band's journey. At the forefront of innovation and the path to quality, the Iris returned to recording studios and produced Sueste, the result of a long process of maturation since the release of A2 Sul, the last album of originals in 2003. The album was followed in 2014 chance and at the end of 2016 live work CD + DVD Ballads that now performs at Cine-Teatro Louletano.
The show is scheduled for 75 minutes and is recommended for those over 6 years old, with an associated cost per person of 8 euros or 6 euros for those over 65 or under 30, and the Amigo Card is also applicable.
