"It is perhaps the program of the 10 of June more complete since it began" – The Economic Newspaper

The President of the Republic, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, says that the program of June 10, which celebrates the Day of Portugal, Camões and Portuguese Communities, will have the program "most complete since it began in France." The ceremonies this year extend to Cape Verde.

The Portuguese head of state is in the city of Praia, where he visited the association Espaço Aberto de Safende, which supports children in situations of vulnerability, during the stopover in Cape Verde, after participating in the celebrations of the centenary of the Confirmation of General Theory of Relativity of Albert Einstein in Sao Tome and Principe.

"It is perhaps the most complete June 10 program since it began in France in 2016, continued in Brazil and the United States last year. It is perhaps the most complete because there is a very special component that is the presidency of the CPLP for Cape Verde and are very deep bonds that exist and that do not lag behind the ties that unite us to Brazil, as it was two years ago, says Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.

The agenda of June 10 this year will be "everything to run", according to the President, who says he has fine-tuned the details of the program with his Cape Verdean counterpart.

"It begins with the displacement of the President of the Republic of Cape Verde to Portugal and also a deputation of the Cape Verdean armed forces that for the first time will parade with the Portuguese military in a ceremony of June 10. It is a CPLP dream that has existed for a long time, but that starts where it should start with the CPLP presidency and makes sense to eat here, "he explained.

The agenda includes sports, culture, fraternization between Cape Verdeans and Portuguese and recognition of merit of Portuguese Cape Verdeans, with activities divided between the cities of Praia and Mindelo in the next 10 and 11 days.

Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa also said that the program is scheduled to travel to Brava island, which will be a private visit at the invitation of Cape Verdean President Jorge Carlos Fonseca. "The Cape Verdean president would die if I was not, because he is very attached to the island because of family ties and wants so much, so we will go to Brava," said Marcelo Rebelo Sousa.
