João Matias, from Aviludo / Louletano, became national champion of persecution


Cyclist João Matias (Aviludo / Louletano) was the champion of individual pursuit this Sunday, in the only male elite event on the second day of competition in the national track championship, held at the National Velodrome, in Sangalhos.

The individual chase test was the only one of the day for the male elite, with victory in the end pending for João Matias.

The Barcelon competed in the final with Iuri Leitão (Grupo Desportivo Supermercados Froiz), ending up registering a time of 4.26 minutes, two seconds less than Iuri Leitão.

In the veteran categories, master 40 Rui Guerreiro (Loulé Cycling Center) won both races, scratch and elimination, of the respective category.

In the youth competitions, which counted for the Youth Championship, Raquel Dias (Extremosul / Hotel Alisios / Cenmais) ended up winning the 500 meters and scratch competitions in the women.
