Coach Jorge Costa, who will succeed Sérgio Vieira as coach of Farense, said goodbye today, on video, to the Romanian club Gaz Metan Media and its supporters.
Without ever mentioning the name of Farense, which the sports press has reported as the next step in his career, the coach admitted to having accepted the invitation of a Portuguese emblem.
“The pandemic situation is now different. I have my family in Portugal – my wife, my father and mother are close to 90 years old. I do not feel comfortable. It is not an excuse. Two days ago, a Portuguese club invited me and, even though it seems and is a selfish decision, I decided to come back ”, said the coach.
Jorge Costa thus returns to the Algarve – after being a coach at Olhanense between 2008 and 2010, guiding Olhão's team in the return to I Liga 35 years later -, lamenting the end of the sports project and the commitment that existed at the club, 10. º ranked in the Romanian league.
Farense occupies the 18th place in the I Liga, with 12 points and one game in arrears. The Algarve team will play on Thursday against Santa Clara, at São Luís Stadium.
