Midfielder Jorge Vilela of Desportivo das Aves is Portimonense's first player for the 2019/20 season, having signed a contract for four seasons, the Algarve club announced today in its official website.
The 23-year-old Jorge Vilela, who was named national Under-23 champion in the service of Desportivo das Aves, signed a contract with the Algarve until 2023, with a 20 million euro termination clause.
"In view of the next season, SAD Portimonense has just recruited the first reinforcement, anticipating several national and international clubs," reads the website of the club of Portimão.
Jorge Vilela totaled 2,766 minutes in 33 games played this season in the national U-23 championship by Desportivo das Aves, having signed four goals and 66 minutes in two games of the same level.
Before joining the Desportivo das Aves in early 2018/19, the player represented Freamunde, Lions of Citânia (Paços de Ferreira) and Aliados Lordelo.
Portimonense, who secured their place in the Portuguese Premier League on the previous day, benefiting from the Nacional draw in Guimaraes (2-2), is currently the 13th place in the league, with 36 points.
