Júlio César fulfills his dream of playing in Europe at Portimonense

Brazilian winger Júlio César, 26, presented yesterday as a reinforcement of Portimonense, from the I football league, will fulfill his dream of playing in European football.

“It is a dream to be able to play in Europe. It was the first opportunity to leave Brazil and come to a European club. The first impression is the best possible: everyone welcomed me, I found an excellent structure and I am very happy ”, said the player, 26 years old, former Atlético Goianense.

Asked by journalists, on the sidelines of Thursday's training session, the footballer described himself to fans: “I am extreme. I have no preference for the side, I can either play on the right or on the left. I like to go over the defenders and serve my teammates. ”

"I come to help, to add up and be one more to make a difference," added Júlio César, who has not been competing since March, due to the pandemic, and wants to use the next training games to put the physical indexes at the top.

“I want to take advantage of the next training games to prepare myself. I want to do my best and reach the ideal shape at the beginning of the I League ”, he stressed.

Professional since 2013, the winger will have his first experience outside Brazil, where he played in Paraná, ABC, Inter de Lages, Cascavel, Caxias do Sul, Oeste, Chapecoense, Atlético Goianiense, Ponte Preta and Botafogo de São Paulo.

The most remarkable experience was spent in Chapecoense, having been one of the reinforcements recruited after the tragedy that caused 71 deaths in the crash of a plane carrying a club delegation.

“There was a very heavy climate in the city. People were sorry inside the club. It was a huge responsibility for the players who arrived, to honor the club and everyone who died. It was a remarkable experience ”, he said.

Júlio César is Portimonense's sixth reinforcement for the new season, after goalkeeper Aflalo, defender Maurício and forwards Welinton Júnior, Safawi and Fabrício.
