Kenyan marathon runner Samuel Kalalei has been suspended for four years following a positive EPO run in the last marathon in Rotterdam last April.
The suspension, announced by the Athletic Integrity Unit (AIU), confirms the preventive suspension that had been in effect since June 4 of this year.
Kalalei, 23, ran in Rotterdam in 2: 10.44, to be seventh. Before, he had already seen the sights in November 2017, when he won the Athens Masters.
This case follows a number of recent events with Kenyan funders, including Olympic champion marathon champion Rio2016, Jemima Sumgong.
In September, a report by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) found that there was a "serious doping program" in Kenya, even if it was not concluded that there was 'institutionalized doping' in the country.
