The national championships of alpine skiing and snowboarding, marked for the weekend, in the Serra da Estrela, were postponed by the Federation of Winter Sports of Portugal (FDIP), said today to Lusa the president Pedro Farromba.

The competitions were scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, but the high temperatures meant that there were no conditions for the tests.

Pedro Farromba said he had sent a letter to the Secretary of State for Youth and Sports, João Paulo Rebelo, to explain the reason for the postponement and to reiterate the need to change the legislation so that the championships of snow modalities abroad , when there are no conditions for them to take place in Portugal.

Last November, during the FDIP Gala held in Penhas da Saúde, in Covilhã, João Paulo Rebelo admitted this change, when he revised the Legal Regime of Sports Federations, without compromising with dates.
