Lagoa approves tax exemption for merchants in 2021


The municipality of Lagoa approved a new package of exemptions from various fees and rents for concessioned municipal spaces, reinforcing its measures to support economic activity in the municipality. This set of support measures for local companies,
similarity to what had already happened in March this year.

Exemption from payment of the public space occupation fee for companies or sole proprietors (ENI) that partially or totally terminate their activity as a result of the situation of the covid-19 pandemic, upon application and case by case analysis, is one of the measures now renewed. As well as, the exemption from the advertising fee applicable to companies and ENI with registered office in the municipality of Lagoa that partially or totally close their activity as a result of the health crisis, analyzed case by case after request, is another measure included in this package of support for economic activity in the municipality of Lagoa.

Also exempt from fixed rates on water consumption, solid urban waste and sanitation, regularly included in water bills, companies and ENI with registered office in the municipality of Lagoa that partially or totally close their activity as a result of the pandemic situation, and who have submitted an application to be assessed. The exemption from the payment of rents related to municipal spaces granted until May 2021, is yet another measure adopted.

«The measures now approved are forms of effective support for local businesses to overcome the difficult moment they are going through. We intend to give a clear signal of encouragement to the resilience of entrepreneurs and entrepreneurs based in our municipality. We are
to develop efforts directed at several fronts with the objective of helping the people of Lagoa and not leaving anyone behind ”, stressed Luís Encarnação.
