The delivery of the first nine grand prizes of the campaign “Val € comprar na comercio Local” took place last week, in a small ceremony that took place this Friday, February 5, 2021, at 3.30 pm, in the Auditorium of the Convento de S. José in Lagoon.

This symbolic act, chaired by the president of the municipality, Luís Encarnação, and accompanied by the President of ACRAL, Paulo Alentejano, made it possible to deliver the prize of 1500 euros to the winner, as well as the prizes between 750 and 250 euros. The remaining 105 winners have been collecting their prizes, between 150 and 20 euros, at the secretariat of the FATACIL premises, where the Entrepreneur Desk in the Municipality of Lagoa.

These prizes are related to the first draw of the campaign “Val € comprar na comercio Local", where the first 10 thousand euros were drawn, for a total of 50 thousand euros to be drawn, until the end of the campaign. it contained 8010 receipts, equivalent to 80 100 euros of purchases made in the local commerce of Lagoa between December 25, 2020 and January 25, 2021.

The draws are transmitted in streaming, live on the municipality's website, from 2:30 pm on the last business day of January, February, March, April and May 2021. All information about this campaign is published on the same web site. . "Vale comprar na Comércio Local" is a joint initiative of the Lagoa Chamber and the commercial association ACRAL – Association of Commerce and Services of the Algarve. It already has the participation of 120 companies or entrepreneurs on an individual basis based in the municipality of Lagoa, but the possibilities for new memberships remain open. Consumers who prefer these local suppliers of goods and services can apply for new prizes, worth over 40 thousand euros over the next four months.

Meanwhile, the municipality of Lagoa has also distributed 72 thousand euros to the unemployed registered and indicated by the IEFP, in vouchers of 40 euros each, so that
they can make purchases at local stores.

«With this campaign, the municipality aims to support the local economy, at a time where there are marked difficulties for companies. The economic and social effects of the COVID-19 pandemic are being felt strongly. Attracting customers to traditional commerce across the municipality, promoting the circular economy with offers to participating participants, is one of the several measures that we are implementing », clarified Luís Encarnação.
