At the Meeting of the House of Representatives, a vote of congratulations was approved unanimously, addressed to Palmares Beach & Golf Resort. This was the form found by the lacobrigican executive to publicly recognize the business merit and excellence of this tourist enterprise of the county.
For the seventh consecutive year, it was awarded the "Best Golf Course" prize in the context of the 15th edition of the "Publituris Portugal Travel Awards 2018", published at the end of September.
In the presentation of the proposal, Maria Joaquina Matos, president of the municipality, referred to the Palmares as "a paradise", adding that "to achieve for 7 consecutive years this prize must certainly be a lot of work and a lot of will and ability to well served by the company ".
António Pinto Coelho, Director General of Operations of Palmares, thanked the distinction, noting that the prize received is also a prize for the city, since the developers of the venture are all from the county. According to the manager, the success of the venture also depends very much on the surrounding area, since the golf clients who play in Palmares are installed in hotels in the city and the county and consume a whole series of services that the territory provides them. António Pinto Coelho ended his speech by saying: "we are a piece of a kind of bigger puzzle, so if the people of the city did not do their job well we would not be able to achieve this performance and recognition."
The Publituris Portugal Travel Awards are one of the most important prizes of the sector and also known as the "Portuguese Tourism Oscars. Despite strong competition in this 15th edition, Palmares once again won the votes and preference of the readers of Publituris and the Jury.
This award also comes as a result of the international recognition that the field has had over the last few years. Golf course excellence designed by renowned American designer Robert Trent Jones Jr., coupled with efficient operation and customer-friendliness, location, existing weather conditions and the surrounding scenic beauty and surrounding environment with the Ria de Alvor, the dunes of Meia-Praia, the Bay and the city of Lagos as a backdrop, have been the trump cards of this venture.
