Lagos hosts national premiere of "I SEE YOU"

Acrobatics and psychology have a private wedding in the new show “I SEE YOU”, a co-production of the companies Teatro Experimental de Lagos, Cia.VAYA and B-Side, in national premiere during the month of September.

“I SEE YOU” opens in Portugal on September 12, 2020, at the Fortaleza de Sagres, with the support of the Regional Directorate for Culture of the Algarve and integrated in the “DiVaM” Program. The presentation will follow at the Lagos Cultural Center, on two dates: September 18th at 9:30 pm and September 19th at 7:00 pm, and in Lisbon on September 20th, at the 5th edition of Chapéus Na Rua (Festival of Circus and Arts of Rua de Lisboa), at 6 pm, at Campo Mártires da Pátria.

«The show“ I SEE YOU ”starts from the idea of putting artists and audiences inside a woman's head and using the new circus as a mechanism to reveal the structure of her thinking, her mind and her inner world», tells the company. The idea of the show is inspired by the animated film "Inside Out", by Ronnie del Carmen and Jonas Rivera, produced by Pixar Animation Studios. The content of the narration is inspired by the stories of the documentary "Human" by Yann Arthus-Bertrand, and the analysis of the mental mechanisms of the cast.

«In contrast to the avalanche of technological advances, the show proposes a journey in the opposite direction, towards self-knowledge. The pretext is to go through the mysteries of the mind and reveal the secret dialogue of our inner shadows. The narrative thread is created by a voice-off that represents the reflections and conflicts of our own battles ”, explains the organization of the show.

The creative research of the show I SEE YOU focuses on the interaction of four professional acrobats with different nationalities, (Timotheé Belime from Portugal, Berna Huidobro from Chile, Elisa Strabioli from Italy and Thibaud Thevenet from France). Together, they envision the various ways for a woman to look at every issue in her life. A profound, fun, ironic and unpredictable spectacle for the whole family.
