The last Chamber Meeting approved the proposal for a partnership agreement to be concluded between the municipality of Lagos, the Lusíada Institute of Culture and AMAL – Algarve Intermunicipal Community under the “Zer0 Museum”.
The project aims to create in the Algarve a museum especially dedicated to digital art, with the collaboration of several municipalities, including Lagos, through the creation of a synergy with schools and a cultural programming directed to this art form.
The Museu Zer0: // d1g1tal art center project, born at the facilities of the Agricultural Cooperative in Santa Catarina da Fonte do Bispo, Tavira, «arises from the desire to create in the Algarve a place of physical representation of digital art works with a view to national and international recognition of the region and its artistic potential ”, explains the municipality.
The works presented will be directly conceived to be exhibited in the spaces of this museum, but also coming from collections of other international museums, always betting on innovation, new technologies and creativity of resident artists, Portuguese and foreign.
Counting on the partnership of several Algarve municipalities, the Municipality of Lagos approved in a Chamber Meeting the contract with the Lusíada Institute of Culture and AMAL, which aims to provide financial support of 3,500 euros to support the project.
This contract includes, among other things, the establishment of a program of awareness and education initiatives with school groups to bring the school community closer to the “Zer0 Museum” and its concept. In addition, the partnership also aims to present digital works created as part of the project activities in the spaces held by the Museum or the municipality of Lagos.
