The Lagos city council will build yet another new sports center, thus increasing the network of playgrounds that serves the population of the municipality. To be implemented in Odiáxere, behind the Urbanização Varandas de São Francisco, the new equipment will allow the practice of various sports, namely futsal, basketball and handball. The project also provides for the arrangement of the surroundings with the planting of trees, paving the access to the sports center and installation of urban furniture.
The intervention has a fixed base price of 61 thousand euros and an execution period of 120 days, with the tender procedure currently taking place.
This intervention originated from proposal No. 32 presented to the 2018 Participatory Budget, which was one of the winners of that edition. The cost of the intervention ended up exceeding the estimate then presented by the authors of the proposal, making it impossible to implement it under the Participatory Budget, but the municipality decided to “not let the idea drop” and ended up developing the project and implementing it.
The intervention also improves the landscape and environment of the public space integrated in that new residential area. The sports center will be 18 m wide and 28 m long, configuring a training facility in accordance with applicable legislation.
