The artist's four-legged friend was awarded the Artist's Cutest Animal Award.
Shortly before it was announced that Gracie was the winner of the Cutest Musician's Pet Award at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, which ran this Thursday, March 14, the little dog died. The singer revealed the news was singer Lauren Jauregui, who said her four-legged friend left earlier in the week after an "accident."
In a video posted on the artist's Instagram account, she began by writing: "Congratulations, my cutest and most handsome pet. Thank you to iHeartAwards and to all of you incredible fans for loving Gracie as much as we do. "
Then, heartbroken, he said that Gracie died a few days before the gala awards, after an "accident that caused respiratory complications."
"I will never forget the way she looked at me, her graceful, cheeky personality, her delicious comforting hugs, the way she growled and snorted whenever she was annoyed with me," he recalled, showing himself with much regret for the little girl.
"I pray that you are where you belong because my heart can not understand how the universe took you so quickly," he added, thanking them for the support of all the fans.
