The districts of Lisbon, Setúbal, Braga and Leiria will be under yellow warning until 17:00 on Saturday due to the hot weather, according to the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IMPA).
The IPMA also placed a yellow warning on the district of Faro, but because of the sea turmoil, it is predicted waves of south-east with two meters until 09:00 on Friday.
In Lisbon the temperatures will vary between 22 and 35 degrees Celsius, in Setúbal between 19 and 38, in Leiria between 14 and 35 and in Braga between 15 and 34.
The yellow warning, the third of a scale of four, reveals a risk situation for certain activities depending on the weather situation.
The IPMA predicts for today in the continent clean sky and temperature rise, especially in the North and Center regions.
It is also forecast weak to moderate wind from the eastern quadrant, temporarily rotating north on the western coastal strip north of Sines in the afternoon, and blowing moderate to strong in the highlands until late morning and late afternoon.
The minimum temperatures in the continent will vary between 12 degrees Celsius (in Bragança) and 22 (in Lisbon) and the maximum between 27 (in Guarda) and 38 (in Setubal).
