Planned and prepared when it was not yet foreseen what would happen from March, the 2020 edition of the leisure activity project “Viver o Verão” will remain, but “adapted to the constraints inherent to the current pandemic context that if you live », explains the municipality of Lagos.
The changes to the conditions of participation, approved at the last meeting of the chamber, "recommend a model that ensures a safe response to the largest number of children, young people and families, respecting the current rules and guidelines of the General Directorate of Health", clarifies the municipality.
For this purpose, in this edition the groups will consist of a maximum number of 8 children aged between 8 and 12 years old, who can participate in the project for a period of 15 days, in the morning or in the afternoon (without meal included). Still, this solution
it will allow 128 children and 32 young people / monitors to be occupied every fortnight (640 participants in the total edition), considering the three centers where the project will be developed: Espaço Jovem, EB1 of Bairro Operário (both in Lagos) and EB1 of Odiáxere.
The Bensafrim and Luz nuclei this year will not work, given the fact that the available physical spaces do not meet the conditions required by the regulations in force.
In order to ensure that all preventive care is taken care of, regarding occupation, permanence and physical distance, contingency plans, hygiene plans and isolation areas, a Procedures Manual for the Viver o Verão 2020 project.
The chamber also stresses that “given the need to limit the size of the project, in addition to reducing vacancies, changing the modalities of participation and limiting the ages of the participants, the selection and admission to the project will have as main criterion the prioritization of children whose parents are working '.
The registration fees were also reduced, given the changes in the conditions of participation.
