Brazilian central defender Lucas Tagliapietra, formerly of Boavista, was introduced to the media today as a reinforcement for Portimonense, signing for two seasons with the emblem of the First Football League.
The 29-year-old, the seventh new face in Portimão, was "asked" by coach Paulo Sérgio, revealed the president of Portimonense SAD, Rodiney Sampaio.
Lucas Tagliapietra praised the Algarve club. “I had already heard about Portimonense, through friends, and it seemed to me to be a very well organized club. When the invitation arrived, I saw the possibility with a very good eye. I'm happy to be here, ”he said.
The Brazilian center-back considers that the Portimão emblem is well served in relation to his teammates. “Competition is good. I played against them and they are an asset. We all have ambition, but then it is the daily work that will speak ”, he said.
“I am a player of character, inside and outside the dressing room. I always try to add to the group, because when one wins, we win all. On the field, I like to organize and I'm strong in set pieces ”, described Lucas about his type of game and personality.
Portimonense's seventh reinforcement awaits a competitive championship. “We must have humility and ambition, but with our feet on the ground. It is a very competitive league and we need to get as many points as possible in this start-up, with the focus on maintenance work as the main objective ”, he stressed.
Lucas Tagliapietra represented Santa Cruz, in Brazil, before leaving his native country.
After stints at TSW Pegasus (Hong Kong), Dacia Chisinau and Milsami (Moldova) and Hamilton (Scotland), the central was in Boavista in the 2016/2017 season, then went on to LDU Quito (Ecuador) and Al-Batin (Saudi Arabia) before returning to Bessa.
Last season, he played 12 games for chess in the League, with two goals scored.
Portimonense starts the championship at home, against Paços de Ferreira, in a game scheduled for September 21, at 19:45 hours.
