The Church of Mercy in Tavira hosts tomorrow, Saturday, 13, at 6:00 pm, the session of film-concert "A Woman of Paris", with the pianist and composer Luís Conceição.
It is a 40-minute version of Charles Chaplin's classic, accompanied by piano music.
Luís Conceição was born in 1974. He began his musical studies at the age of five at the Regional Conservatory of Algarve, having completed the General Piano Course. Graduated in Music Sciences, at the New University of Lisbon, and in Piano, at the University of Évora.
He has worked as an accompanist pianist, teacher of piano and history of music in several national conservatories.
As a pianist and composer he performed in countless national and international venues, solo and chamber ensembles and orchestras. As composer he has more than 250 works, since 1993.
He currently teaches at the Music Academy of Tavira and leads several musical projects, where he emphasizes the interdisciplinarity of the arts, namely, a symbiotic relationship between music, poetry and cinema.
The concert is part of the project "Music in the Churches", an organization of the Academy of Music of Tavira that aims to boost the built heritage and promote a taste for music.
