Manuel Pinho used tax pardon to legalize 2.7 million euros - The Economic Journal

Former Economy Minister Manuel Pinho has adhered to the Exceptional Tax Regularization Scheme to legalize more than 2.7 million euros, reveals the edition of "Correio da Manhã" (CM) on Wednesday, December 5.

The amount was in bank accounts of offshore companies in Switzerland at the end of 2010, of which the former governor and the wife, Alexandra Fonseca Pinho, were the beneficiaries. The Public Ministry intends to determine if the former minister has transferred him to Portugal.

In order to legalize that amount, Manuel Pinho paid an IRS rate of 7.5%, paying a tax of around 204 million euros, according to the records of the EDP case consulted by the CM.
