The Mar de Músicas, in Cartagena (Spanish region of Murcia), this year has 14 artists from Portugal, a country invited to the 25th edition of what is considered one of the best small format festivals in Spain.
The poster promoting the festival, which runs from July 19 to 27, was created by the Portuguese artist Joana Vasconcelos who proposed a "visual metaphor on Portuguese tradition and modernity."
The fado will be represented by Mariza and Ana Moura, in addition to the young singer Lina, who will present his new project created with the director and composer Raul Refree.
António Zambujo, Luísa Sobral, Rui Massena, the set Dead Combo and Maria de Medeiros with Legendary Tigerman will also be present.
The Sea of Songs also includes names of the Portuguese-speaking world such as Pongo, Mayra Andrade, Dino D'Santiago and Fumaça Preta.
The festival begins on July 19 with "the most powerful voice of Brazil", Elza Soares, and ends the 27 of the same month on a night dedicated to the Morente (flamenco) family.
The American saxophonist Kamasi Washington, the musician of Mali Salif Keita, the Brazilian Toquinho with Sílvia Pérez Cruz will also be in Cartagena.
