Marcelino García Toral, Valencia coach, acknowledged that Arsenal were more effective in this Europa League semi-final, but considered their players "left their skin on the pitch" and ended up "crying at the beach".
"I am very sad, but on the other hand I am proud of my players for having arrived here and fighting. We were hoping to reach the final, but we faced a great team, very effective and superior on the undercard," Marcelino began.
The Spanish coach also left compliments to Arsenal striker Aubameyang and Lacazette, who together scored the Gunners' seven goals on the undercard.
"They are very good and have a very high percentage and efficiency. Arsenal have two great strikers, which had a high percentage of correctness, but I also think we were not as defensive as in other games," he continued.
"I have to thank the supporters for the support, the atmosphere before the game and afterwards. I also ask for support for the games that are missing, these players have left their skin on the pitch, this opportunity after so much work," he concluded.
