It is with the Latin rhythms of Catalan Maruja Limón that kicks off the festival, on a night that continues with the fusion of afrobeat, ball funk, dub and hip hop by Brazilian Da Cruz and the crossing of electroswing, balkan and disco of Muyayo Rif, ending with the performance of DJ Wise Guy.
The big confirmation of the 2019 poster comes on the second day, with Ornatos Violeta, celebrating the 20th anniversary of the album “The Monster Needs Friends”, after the Azorean Maria Bettencourt took the stage where she debuted, at the age of 10, when he joined his uncle's band, Nuno Bettencourt, Extreme guitarist, and now returning with his first solo album.
Also on Friday, there is room for the Latin American rhythms brought by the Spanish Eskorzo and for the Makossa Brothers 'DJ' set.
From Reunion Island comes the electronic music of Morgane Ji, who performs before the Selma Uamusse and The O'Reillys & the Paddyhats concert and Club Banditz's closing concert.
During the afternoons of the three days of the festival, there is also theater and jam sessions by local musicians at Palheiro Palheiro, a novelty this year, which brings excitement to Praia Formosa's waterfront, as well as the usual activities, including beach volleyball, buzz and walking tours.
It will also be exhibited the commemorative documentary of the 35th anniversary of the Portuguese festival that counts more editions, produced by Cão de Fila.
