Center-back Maurício and striker Fabrício were yesterday, Tuesday, presented as reinforcements from Portimonense, both returning to the club of the First League of football due to the Japanese Urawa Reds Diamonds.
"It was a sudden decision and with a very big objective: to reach the Europa League", said the Brazilian forward, who despite being 30 years old feels "at 25 and with the strength to grow more and more".
Fabrício will star in the fourth season in Portimão and the eighth season in the Algarve emblem, in a course that started in 2011 and which totals 186 games and 47 goals in all competitions.
“We are preparing to realize a difficult, but not impossible, dream. The focus is on achieving that goal in the coming seasons ”, he added, about qualifying for European competitions.
The central defender Maurício, 28 years old, who was in Portimão in the 2014/15 season, with 41 games and four goals in the II League, returned “with a lot of motivation to help” the club achieve its goals.
“I am in a very good moment and able to help, putting all my experience at the service of the team to help a club that has always shown me affection, and with a wonderful structure. It was a personal choice, although I had other proposals ”, he maintained.
Portimonense, who are still looking for several reinforcements to close the squad, was ranked 17th in the last season and relegated on the field, having been recaptured after Vitória de Setúbal was excluded due to financial failure.
