The Municipality of Mértola is implementing, in partnership with ABC – Algarve Biomedical Center, a plan to adapt to Covid-19, in the area of education, with a budget of 33,500 euros financed by the municipality.
This strategy aims to "define and implement measures that aim to contribute to the existence of an educational environment with maximum security in terms of public health, maximizing the possibilities existing in physical spaces and adopting measures that minimize the possibility of transmission of the SARS COV2 virus" .
Diagnostic tests were carried out, on the 15th, to the teachers of the Grupamento de Escolas de Mértola, specialized technicians, educational assistants, technical and operational assistants and drivers responsible for the school transport of the Municipality, of the Escola Profissional Alsud , from SCMM Children's Nursery and Children's Workshop.
In line with the indications issued by the Directorate-General for Health, and through the attribution of two sponsors (ABC doctors), there will be an “on-site” follow-up, in order to guarantee that the adaptation by the local entities that are part of the plan "Be done with the greatest confidence in the process, making sure that the rules are being followed".
Follow-up will be carried out throughout the school year, adjusting whenever necessary.
The number of a telephone line to support the school community, managed by ABC doctors, will be given to all teachers, staff and guardians, where at least one pediatric doctor from ABC will be available during the day to assist school community in the face of suspicious, positive cases or questions of conduct / performance.
