Bringing citizens closer to the local public policy options and encouraging participatory citizenship are the goals of the first Participatory Budget of the Chamber of Mértola, with an investment value of 100 thousand euros.
The Participatory Budget for 2019 will integrate the Youth Participatory Budget (OPJ) and the General Participatory Budget (OPG).
The maximum value of the municipal investment to be attributed to the OP for the 2018/2019 edition is 100 thousand euros, of which 40 thousand are for the OPJ (maximum 10 thousand per project) and the remaining ones for the OPG (maximum 20 thousand by project).
To start the process, tomorrow, Wednesday, 28, the meetings with the population, in the respective parish councils, start tomorrow.
The first will be in Alcaria Ruiva, followed on the 29th in São João dos Caldeireiros and on the 30th in Mértola. In December, meetings are scheduled on the 3rd, at the headquarters of the Union of Parishes, on the 4th in Espirito Santo, on the 5th in Pinto and on the 6th in Santana de Cambas.
The OPG is intended for all citizens over 30, who are natural, residents or workers in the municipality of Mértola, while the OPJ is addressed to all citizens between the ages of 14 and 29.
Proposals may be submitted in the following areas of competence of the municipality: education, sport and youth; equipment and public spaces; health and wellness; local economy; agriculture, forestry and rural development; transport, mobility and accessibility; and entrepreneurship.
