Sao Vicente's Mindelense and Oásis Atlântico do Sal can qualify for the semi-finals of the Cape Verdean football championship if they win their respective games on the weekend of Matchday 5 of the competition.
With eight points and the lead of group A, Mindelense de São Vicente, national runner-up, will play at home on Sunday with Académica do Porto Novo (six points) and, if he wins, already guarantees a place in the semi- finals and first place.
Meanwhile, Académica do Porto Novo has already warned that they want to go to São Vicente to win and also take another important step to be one of the four best teams in the maximum club competition in the country this year.
In the other game of the group, also marked for Sunday, Académica do Fogo (three points) will receive the national champion Académica da Praia (two points), two teams practically out of the fight for a place in the semi-finals.
Who can also secure a presence in the semi-finals is the Oásis Atlântico do Sal team, Group C leader with eight points, if they win on Saturday the second-placed Eleven-Star Boavista, which has seven points.
The other game of the group will be a duel between teams of the island of Santiago, in which Varandinha of Tarrafal (two points) will receive the Celtic of the Beach (three points).
Group C is the strongest in the championship in Cape Verde in which the four teams have five points and nothing will be decided this weekend in the games of the fifth and penultimate round of the group stage.
While the St. Nicholas' Overseas will play at home with the Holy Crucifix of Santo Antão Norte, Sporting da Brava will host the May 83 Academic.
The top three finishers qualify for the semi-finals, plus the best runners-up in all three groups.
