Serginho's goal decided on an Olhão derby. Four Algarve teams involved in the fight for the stage of access to the Third League
Moncarapachense surprised today in the reception to Olhanense, winning the derby of the 18th round of Series H of the Portuguese Football Championship by 1-0, while Louletano and Esp. Lagos added up draws.
In Moncarapacho, in a poor encounter and with few moments of emotion, it was worth, in the final part, at 80 minutes, a shot from outside the area of substitute Serginho.
The “rubronegra” team – without Edgar Davids on the bench, absent for personal reasons -, who was required more, was many holes below normal and ended up punished for the total offensive inoperability in this council duel.
Olhanense occupies the 3rd place, with 28 points – 17 from leader Vitória de Setúbal, but with less than one game -, being practically guaranteed the qualification for the access phase to the new III League (the classified among the 2nd and 5th places), «race» in which, in fact, the other three Algarve teams are also involved: Louletano (4th, 24 points and three games less), Moncarapachense (5th, 20) and Esp. Lagos (6th, 19th and one game less).
The set of Loulé drew in the reception to the 2nd classified, Amora, letting the victory escape in discounts – and in numerical superiority. Bruno Silva scored for the Algarve on 26 minutes, Alessandro was sent off on 77 and Diogo Tavares sealed the 1-1 on 90 + 3.
In Lagos, Moura, last placed, took the lead in the 58th minute, by Amoah, but Esperança managed to secure a point with central Tiago Tiago's goal (79).
In the next round of Serie H of the third step, scheduled for Sunday, March 7, the matches Pinhalnovense-Moncarapachense and Moura-Louletano will be played. The Algarve duel Olhanense-Esp. Lagos was postponed to March 28.
