Montalegre is the only third-tier club still present in the Portuguese Cup.
Montalegre refuses to play "shrunk" and has a strategy prepared to surprise Benfica in the last 16 of the Portuguese Football Cup on Wednesday, assured coach José Manuel Viage.
"The fact that we play with Benfica does not mean that we will play shrunken. We want to do what we do with the other teams, there will not be a different treatment and if we can not it was because the opponent did not leave, "said the coach of the emblem of Trás-os-Montes, in anticipation of the meeting scheduled for Montalegre, at 8:45 p.m.
The coach of the only third-tier club still present in the Portuguese Cup recognized that there will be times when his team will have to play with "low lines for imposition of the opponent", but refused "to put a 'bus' in the goal to defend only" .
José Manuel Viage wants to see his players "have a ball and try to play to surprise Benfica", ensuring they have a strategy set up for the meeting in which they intend to demonstrate the value of the squad and the championship that represents.

The coach of the Alto Tâmega club also wants his players to focus only on the game "within the four lines", emphasizing that they will face "eleven against eleven, with the same laws of play and physics."
The fact that the match takes place in its stadium and not on loan is also a reason for pride and a "great victory" for Montalegre.
"I am grateful to the municipality and all those involved who, together with the club, had a great capacity to respond to play here, because when Benfica plays with teams of this size, they never play in their opponents' house," explained the coach. 46 years.
Also the captain of the barrosã team, Gabi, recognized the important moment for the club and for the region, but also for an "ambitious" squad.

The 24-year-old midfielder did not highlight any element of the 'incarnated' squad, considering all of 'extreme quality' and 'internationally recognized', some in the national teams.
The AD Flaviense and Desportivo de Chaves player, who represents Montalegre for five consecutive seasons, confessed that the team needs to "lower the euphoria" because it can lead to "a negative side".
"We have to enter the field with focus and ambition and with the quality we have we can surprise Benfica," he shot, ensuring that after the initial whistle the 'transmontanos' will get used to a house with more spectators than usual.
