A change in the law allowed five times more immigrant workers to have settled in the last year.
According to data released today by the Público newspaper, in 2017, 3,500 permits were granted to migrant workers. The numbers of 2018 point to more than 16 thousand regularizations of immigrant workers, mostly Brazilians.
This increase reflects a change in the law but also the decentralization of schedules in the service of foreigners and borders (SEF).
The change in the law corresponds to Article 88, which came to contemplate the promise of a contract of employment rather than the contract of employment itself.
