The entry in 2020 is celebrated with classical and popular music in Loulé on the stage of the 90-year-old Cine-Teatro and in the Solar da Música Nova Auditorium, as part of the start of its new artistic program.
On January 1st, Wednesday, the already traditional New Year's concerts will be held by the Southern Classical Orchestra, with performances at 16h00 and 18h00. Contagious shows are expected and full of liveliness and public involvement, similar to what has happened in previous editions. The guest conductor is Frank Zielhorst, Head Conductor of the British Symphony Live Orchestra and the Southern Classical Orchestra plays works by Strauss, Mozart, Nielsen and Lumbye, with each concert expected to last 60 minutes and per person € 10. applicable discounts).
On January 4th, at 3 pm, the no less usual concert of Charolas and Janeiras de Loulé will take place on the same stage, in which: AGAL Janeiras Group / Loulé Children's and Youth Folk Ranch, Charola das Barreiras Brancas / AGAL , Charola Ossónoba, Charola of the People's House of Conceição de Faro, Charola of the Tavira Musical Band and Charde Juvenile Bordeirense.
The carols, as well as the songs related to the New Year and the Kings, have a very significant expression in the popular Algarve culture. Thus, all over the Algarve, from the mountains to the sea, voices echo, which, warmed by a deeply rooted faith or the pleasure of social life and the creative and artistic challenge of maintaining and renewing tradition, sing verses in which they celebrate the route. to Bethlehem the singing of the crib, the singing of the Good Year, and the songs of Kings. The organization of this event belongs to the Loulé Friends Group Association, which has the support of the Loulé City Council. The show, free of charge, is expected to last three hours.
Also on January 4, but at night (9:30 pm) and at the Solar da Música Nova Auditorium, the prestigious international soprano Olga Heikkilä joins the accordion of Gonçalo Pescada for a meeting that revisits the universes of Mozart and Piazzolla. It is a classic duo that creates an intimate approach to music and text. Seldom is Mozart accordion music and Piazzolla songs sung by a lyric soprano. Acoustically, the sound universe of this concert becomes unique and special.
Olga Heikkilä is a Finnish soprano whose international career has been based mainly on her opera singing skills. She has been recognized and awarded in various competitions for the quality of her vocal interpretation, musicality and charisma on stage. His most recent collaborations have been with the state opera in Stuttgart and Berlin, Germany, at the La Monnaie Theater in Brussels (Belgium), and with the Danish Royal Opera, in Denmark. As a performer, she has been performing regularly throughout Europe with the best orchestras and ensembles. Gonçalo Pescada was born in Faro on August 10, 1979. PhD with distinction and praise in Music and Musicology, strand of interpretation, from the University of Évora, was distinguished with several awards, presented as soloist (accordion) with various orchestras, debuting and interpreting several works at first hearing in Portugal. He has been invited to participate in prestigious festivals in Spain, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy and Bulgaria and has recorded for radio and television.
This show is expected to last 60 minutes, is aimed at the general public and has the associated cost per person of € 5 (no applicable discounts).
