The BTT Loulé / Elevis team won, in collective terms, the second race of the Portuguese Olympic Cross Country Cup (XCO), played last Saturday, at the permanent track of Souto Santa Maria, in the municipality of Guimarães.
The Loulé group reached the 1st place in the team classification, adding seven points, leaving Guilhabreu BTT in 2nd place (nine points) and AXPO / FirstBike Team / Vila do Conde in 3rd place (ten points ).
Individually, several Algarve athletes got places on the podium, with emphasis on Daniel Lima (BTT Loulé / Elevis), who imposed on male cadets, against teammate Artur Mendonça (2nd) and Miguel Martins, from 24hours Altimetria OnTrack ( 3rd).
In male sub-23s, Filipe Francisco (BTT Loulé / Elevis) was 2nd, the same place obtained by Marta Carvalho (ExtremoSul / Hotel Alísios / Cenmais) in female cadets.
The third and final event of the XCO Cup of Portugal will be held in Marrazes, Leiria, on November 1st.
On November 26th and 27th, the Tamengos track, Anadia, hosts the National Championship of Olympic mountain biking.
