The Municipality of Albufeira informs that within the scope of the Annual Tariff Review Cycle, the new Tariffs for Water, Wastewater and Urban Solid Waste were approved for the year 2019, which came into force on March 20, the day after the its publication in Diário da República (2nd series – No. 55 – March 19, 2019).
The changes made in 2019 are exclusively reflected in the reduction of the water tariff. The new tariff will essentially benefit home users, who are the majority of consumers. The large drop will be reflected at the level of the 1st level (up to 25mm inclusive), consumers who were previously subject to a flat rate of € 2.50 and will now pay € 1.10. The same happens with the fixed tariff to apply to the domestic consumers in the 2nd level (> 25mm), that go from 19,80 € to 18,00 €.
Non-domestic users have not been forgotten, and the new tariff will also relieve small business owners and merchants. For these users, the fixed tariff in the first level (<20mm) went from 7,50 € to 6,00 € and in the 2nd level (between 20 and 30mm) from 19,80 € to 18,00 €.
It should be noted that the new prices are within the limits allowed by the Regulatory Authority for Water and Solid Waste Services (ERSAR), which aim to ensure that the amounts charged cover the provision of the service without causing financial loss to the Municipality.
