The Municipality of Loulé, throughout the last year of the Covid-19 pandemic, has carried out a series of initiatives that aim to support families and the development of the local economic fabric, so to mitigate the effects of this last confinement on the local economy, the The municipality has prepared a campaign to stimulate trade, with an initial value of one million euros.
The campaign, promoted by the Municipality of Loulé in conjunction with ACRAL – Association of Commerce and Services of the Algarve Region and NERA – Business Association of the Algarve Region, and in collaboration with the Association of Entrepreneurs Por Quarteira (AEPQ) and Association Restoration and Commerce and Restoration of the City of Loulé (ARCRCL), will start with the period of lack of definition and aims to stimulate the local economy quickly and effectively.
Thus, today, March 12, at Palácio Gama Lobo, at 3 pm, the aforementioned Campaign will be presented online (on the Municipality's Facebook page), which aims to create an incentive for consumption in local commerce, services and restaurants, after the confinement phase, through direct discounts and multiplier effects. With this initiative, it is expected to support, in an initial phase, more than 600 companies.
“This initiative will make it possible to multiply the financial return for our traders, encouraging in an innovative way consumption in local commerce. This is another considerable and important support provided by the Municipality of Loulé, which, in addition to all the work and investment carried out in this area since the beginning of the pandemic, will now invest more than 1 million euros to respond in a clear and effective way to needs of the municipality's micro companies, the sectors of activity most affected ”, considers Vítor Aleixo.
It is recalled that, in October last year, to prevent and mitigate the effects of the pandemic, the municipality approved the Support Program for Economic and Social Management of the Municipality of Loulé, with a diversified set of measures, for an effective response in areas such as health, civil protection, trade, culture, among others. These measures have been implemented, having already had an important impact on the lives of citizens and on the sustainability of companies in the municipality, with emphasis on the tax relief implemented since a few years ago.
The municipality said in a statement that the work carried out over the past year was always carried out in collaboration with local businessmen, and initiatives such as the Christmas promotion campaign for Local Commerce, the creation of the loulelocal.pt website, the campaign “From the Restaurant to the Window of the Taxi”, as well as the promotion of several meetings between businessmen and regional entities, in webinar format.
