Música JA is back with eight musical projects in competition

O Música JA – IPDJ Modern Music Competition | Algarve 2020 will return this month, with qualifiers in São Brás de Alportel and Lagoa without an audience but with online transmission, on the 7th and 11th of August.

"Now that all the conditions are met to ensure the safety of everyone with regard to Covid-19, Música JA returns with new dates and a new presentation format, without an audience and with transmission through social networks", stressed the organization, in charge of the management of the Portuguese Institute for Sport and Youth (IPDJ).

Next Friday, 7 pm, at 10 pm, the first round will take place, with live online transmission on the social networks of the Municipality of São Brás de Alportel and IPDJ.

In this round, four musical projects will participate: Mateus Verde, Apocalypse, Maybe Kyes and WTDPG.

On August 11, from Lagoa, starting at 9:00 pm, the 2nd round of Música JA will take place, in which the musical projects Elephant Woman, Catalina, Dispirited Spirits and Cranky Geeks are presented, also broadcast on social networks in the municipality of Lagoa and IPDJ.

From the musical projects in the competition, these eight projects were selected, which will be evaluated by a jury that “will value creativity, technique, performance on stage, as well as originality and lyrical and musical content”.

Four projects then advance to the final on August 12, starting at 7:30 pm, at Espaço Quintalão, in Faro, marking the celebrations of International Youth Day.

In addition to the participation of the four finalist projects, the final of Música JA will also feature the winning project of the 1st edition, The Black Teddys.

Música JA, which aims to promote and publicize amateur musical projects by young people living in the Algarve region, is an initiative of the regional directorate of the Algarve IPDJ, produced by Mentecapta Produções Audio.

The awards range from concerts at Festival F, Fatacil, Feira da Serra and at an FNAC store, recording an EP, producing a video clip, including a theme in the daily programming of Rua FM and offering a training check ETIC_Algarve .
