The start of the RURALidades – Youth Participation, Cooperation and Entrepreneurship project in low-density territories will take place tomorrow, Friday, 11, in Faro.
The presentation session of the project, promoted by the ECOS Cooperative, will take place at the headquarters of the regional directorate of the Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth, in Faro, from 14:00 hours.
RURALidades will involve municipalities, parish councils, regional delegations and around 1000 young people throughout the process of reflection and discussion on youth participation in the planning and implementation of public policies in low density territories.
The aim is to foster innovative and sustainable opportunities for rural Algarve through the creation of alternative spaces for dialogue, education and cooperation between young people, organizations and decision makers.
Between 2012 and 2016, the ECOS Cooperative developed work in close proximity to the municipalities of the region, which originated in 2012 with the start of the «Algarve 2020: a young proposal» project and later with the projects that the followed and allowed the creation of a network of 93 partners in the region, including the 16 municipalities of the Algarve, “in favor of inter-municipal and intersectoral cooperation for youth”.
This process culminated in the launch of the 1st Algarve Regional Youth Action Plan in March 2016.
RURALidades is coordinated by the Cooperative ECOS, in partnership with the Cooperative Contexts and the Liláz Association, with funding from the Erasmus + Youth in Action Program.
ECOS calls for the participation of young people and the general population to participate in this event.
