The Centro Cultural de Belém (CCB) presented the development plan for modules 4 and 5, which since the inauguration of the CCB 25 years ago had been conceived under the "Open City" project. A project that will be in competition for the next six months and whose work should be around 60 to 70 million euros.
The press conference held this Wednesday at the CCB was attended by Elísio Summavielle, president of the CCB Foundation, the Minister of Culture, Graça Fonseca and the mayor of Lisbon, Fernando Medina.
"This project will give the city of Lisbon a new centrality," said the president of the CCB Foundation, Emílio Summavielle. For the development of the hotel unit (module 5) a total of 16,330 m2 of floor area is available, in order to allow the development of two complementary hotel products.
In relation to the trade and services area (module 4) the floor area available for this development is 7,170 m2. It should be noted that this whole project is supported by an underground parking lot, on a single buried floor, roughly the height of the basement of the Exhibition Center.
"This project is an old ambition of the city", emphasized the mayor of Lisbon, Fernando Medina, during the press conference. The estimated annual revenue will be around 900 thousand euros, with the jury evaluating the proposals in two parameters: technical conditions of the applications (35%) and proposal value (65%).
"The Minister of Culture, Graça Fonseca, has called this project" emblematic ", considering the" cross between the economy and culture "as" absolutely decisive ".
In this contest, the foundation of the CCB will conclude a sub-concession contract for the surface rights of the respective lands, with a view to the development of projects for construction, installation and exploitation for the next 50 years.
