The new Portugal Speed Championship by SPORT TV is announced by the promoters – Prime Promotion (PP) and Autódromo Internacional do Algarve (AIA) – as the top speed in Portugal and will offer registered teams and drivers a competition with the identity and the notoriety of the glory years of motorsport in our country.
With a regulation designed for the spectacle and competitiveness, the newly created championship accepts three categories of vehicles that host mythical brands and models that are known to fans of automobile competition, namely GT CUP, GT LIGHT and TOURING CUP, with all participants to use PIRELLI tires.
The proposed calendar takes into account the teams' needs to rationalize their budgets by proposing four rounds during 2021. Thus, each competition weekend will make three races run, two in the SPRINT format (duration of 20 minutes and one driver at the time) and one in ENDURANCE format (45 minutes duration and use of two pilots if this happens).
As for the visibility of the competition, the Portugal Speed Championship by SPORT TV will hold three of the four days hand in hand with major international competitions, such as GT Open, WTCR and European Le Mans Series (ELMS), championships of great international visibility .

The Portugal Speed Championship by SPORT TV will kick off on the weekend of 23 to 25 April at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve (AIA), side by side with the Internacional GT Open, going to the mythical Vila Real Circuit, at the end from 25th to 27th June, where he will share the track with the FIA WTCR Championship. The month of July will mark the day held on the weekend of 10 and 11 at the Autodromo do Estoril, which will be held hand in hand with various national events and the Classics Portugal Championships.
The Portuguese Championship of Speed by SPORT TV returns to the AIA to close with a flourish alongside the European Le Mans Series, on the weekend of 23 and 24 October, once again, with transmission of all races by SPORT TV.
