Social inclusion dominates the October programming in Portimão, European City of Sport (CED 2019).
After the National Adapted Sailing Championship, held at the end of September, will take place until October 4th at the Portimão Marina, two stages, one national and one international, leading up to the Adapted Sailing European, which will take place between 5 and 12 around 130 athletes representing 12 countries. Soon after, on the 19th and 20th, the Adapted Handball Tournament will take place in the sports hall of the Manuel Teixeira Gomes High School.
Reference also to the CPISRA Development Games, which will take place from 4 to 6 October at Portimão Arena and the Lagos Athletic Track, in the boccia, tricycle and wheelchair slalom disciplines, with the participation of Portuguese. and Spanish. It should be noted that October 4th was considered an Open Day, allowing all interested people to try, in Portimão Arena, from 10h00 to 16h00, the three modalities. One of the main initiatives of this month is the Solidarity Walk Against Breast Cancer, to be held by the Portuguese League Against Cancer (LPCC) on October 20th from the Alvor Sports Complex, under the slogan “Prevention touches to all". Competitively, the highlight is the European Le Mans Series, scheduled for October 25-27 at the Algarve International Race Track, as well as the 22nd Arade River International Canoe Rise, which proves to attract many Portuguese athletes and some from neighboring Spain.
Portimão is also scheduled for the National Darts Championship (18-20 October at the Portimão Arena), the Portuguese Footgolf Cup (19th and 20th on the Penina green) and the third stage of the 2nd MTB Trophy.
