It was inaugurated by the Mayor of Aljezur, José Gonçalves and the President of the Odeceixe Parish Council, Carlos Vieira, on August 2nd, a sculptural environment executed by the sculptor Carlos Oliveira Correia. At the moment, several mayors and population were present.
"The intervention of this place of living in Odeceixe, which with this requalification regains its dignity, and honors its past in local history," said the executive. This is “The Well of the Lowland Flood of Odeceixe”, a set of iron figures that portray the environment that once lived in this locality.
Thus, a man sitting at the well, two goats drinking at a water fountain, a girl guarding the goats, a donkey and its owner on their way to the well, are part of this ensemble.
Relive the past, even if still recent, a revival of memories in a recreation environment around the Poece da Várzea de Odeceixe. The council underlines that "to recreate the past is to live it again and these sculptural elements will enliven memories that we keep and want to perpetuate."
