Odemira Chamber dynamizes Social Responsibility Day - Jornal diariOnline Região Sul


The municipality of Odemira will boost the Social Responsibility Day tomorrow, Tuesday, 16, within the framework of the program "Being Responsible – Social Responsibility Program of Companies of the Municipality of Odemira".

The initiative will include training for the business community and the conference "Social Responsibility: what role and what challenges for the future?".

"Social responsibility is a commitment of citizenship between organizations, the community and the surrounding environment, and social responsibility projects add value to the company and strengthen its connection to the community," said the local authority.

Sensitize companies, reflect critically on these matters, give prominence to experiences and business projects, in areas such as environmental protection and combating climate change, supporting local communities life, company's human resources policy, among others are purposes of the Social Responsibility Day.

During the morning of Tuesday, from 10:00 am, in the auditorium of the José Saramago Municipal Library, a training on Social Responsibility will be organized by GRACE – Group of Reflection and Support to Corporate Citizenship, directed at companies in the municipality.

The conference will be held at 2:00 pm, at Cineteatro Camacho Costa, with the organization of the Supraconcelía Plataforma del Alentejo Litoral.

The initiative will have two thematic panels, the first on "Models and Perspectives of Social Responsibility", with the participation of Mário Parra da Silva (President of the Portuguese Business Ethics Association) and Paulo Silva (University of Évora), moderated by Vanda Cruz (UGT).

The second panel will be on "Good practices of social responsibility", with the participation of Margarida Carvalho (Being Responsible / Social Responsibility Program of the Municipality of Odemira), Maria João Cunha (DELTA), Luís Mesquita Dias (VITACRESS) and Luís Pinheiro (Maravilha Farms), in moderation of Tiago Seixas (Grace Association).
