Registration is open for the “Live Active”, a sport program for seniors promoted by the municipality, through regular classes and with technical support, which currently mobilizes about 400 seniors, in 17 villages and towns, in all Odemira parishes. . "The goal is to improve the quality of life and well-being of the senior population of the county," says the municipality.
Adapted gymnastic exercises, walking, traditional games, among other actions, such as participation in sporting events in the county. Good mood and conviviality are also guaranteed in these sports activity classes.
Streamlined since 2005, the “Live Active” program has the specific objectives of “promoting the adoption of healthy lifestyles and the enjoyment of physical activity, improving functional and social autonomy, stimulating social and emotional relationships and fighting isolation”. .
"Classes are always open to new memberships in Active Living, as long as those interested have no contraindication to physical activity and are over 60 years," the organization said. Registration and more information can be collected at the Parish Councils or at the Odemira Municipal Swimming Pools.
