Odiana has already completed work on the improvement of the Guadiana Great Route (GR15), which included signal reinforcement, section cleaning and punctual redefinition, with an overall investment of 45,755 euros.
The project, part of the VALINTUR project – Valorization of the Interior of the Lower Guadiana, included the revitalization of the Lower Guadiana Pedestrian Paths Network implemented since 2004.
The services contracted for this purpose included the acquisition and fixing / relocation of information panels, directional plates, marking support posts, cleaning and deforestation of rails / paths and painting of signal marks on natural supports, along the route layout. GR15, and the redevelopment of the route network.
In addition to the maintenance work, four changes were made to the initial layout of the GR15, namely in sectors 1 and 4.
These changes are the result of listening to the entities working in the field, as well as frequent users of this route, aiming to “provide safety, comfort and greater enjoyment of the GR15 layout in landscape terms”.
The intervention also implied changes in a swampy area that now, despite the rainy season, will allow more comfortable passage for pedestrians.
The VALINTUR project – Valorization of the Interior of the Lower Guadiana, is an initiative of Odiana, with an application approved within the framework of the Valorization of the Interior Support Line, the Valorizar Program, promoted by Turismo de Portugal.
