Olhanense, with coach Edgar Davids guiding the team from the bench, returned today to the triumphs in Lagos, beating Esperança 1-0, and moved up to 2nd place in the Serie H of the Portuguese Football Championship.
In the late game of matchday 8, at Estádio Municipal Fernando Cabrita, Olhão's team triumphed thanks to a goal from João Oliveira, in the 16th minute, scoring at the second post following a free-kick.
Olhanense, with assistant Hugo Faria on the bench and Dutch coach Edgar Davids on the bench – serving a red card punishment on his debut in Évora -, moved up to 2nd place on the table.
The "rubronegros", who play next weekend, have 17 points, are nine behind leader Vitória de Setúbal and have a game in arrears: the reception for Pinhalnovense scheduled for January 20.
