The Escola EBI / JI José Carlos da Maia, in Olhão, started two new Erasmus + projects in the current school year, "Open Your Eyes! Open Your Heart "and" Be Allies, Not Bullies "for 2nd and 3rd cycle students, respectively.
The project «Open Your Eyes! Open Your Heart ", aimed at students of the 2nd cycle, aims, among others, to develop sensitivity towards" different "and" others "; promote active European citizenship and attitudes of tolerance and strengthen cooperation between young people from different countries; learn about the situation and policies on disadvantaged people in society (the elderly, orphans, the disabled, migrants from different cultures), integrate them into society and create an emphatic attitude towards them and create social change through volunteering.
For its part, the Be Allies, Not Bullies project, aimed at 3rd cycle students, involves developing effective anti-bullying action plans, policies and strategies, providing support to identify and prevent bullying and its impact on and raise public awareness of the issue.
Over two years, 44 students from the school in Olhanense will be able to participate in learning activities in schools in Denmark, Slovakia, Spain, Finland, Greece, Italy, Poland and Turkey.
