On the 22nd at 10 pm, turn off the tap and join the H2Off Movement

March 22 is celebrated World Water Day and the Portuguese Association of Water Distribution and Drainage (APDA), gave birth to ‘‘H2Off’ movement, which aims to make the entire population aware of the efficient use and saving of water, so one of the first actions to be carried out is to encourage the entire population to turn off the tap for one hour, on March 22, at 10 pm, movement to which the diariOnline South Region newspaper joined as Media Partner after announcing the birth of the H2Off Movement.

Teresa Fernandes, President of APDA's Specialized Commission for Communication and Environmental Education, explained exclusively to the diariOnline Southern Region newspaper that the H2Off Movement “It does not want to be just another initiative that is developed by one or the other company, this is a national initiative, which is being developed by the Portuguese Association of Water Distribution and Drainage and which intends in one day, at a very symbolic moment, to alert the population for these water-related issues… ” stressed Teresa Fernandes.

In an association that brings together not only companies but also people from different areas, who have the status of ‘H2Off’ Ambassadors, the common goal is “Take the message to as many people as possible, because the water belongs to all of us.”

"Saving water is everyone's responsibility, because every drop counts …" says Teresa Fernandes, concluding that it is essential to open the tap only when necessary, appealing that on March 22, at 10 pm, the tap should be closed for an hour.
